Evince is a software that have function to open multiple document format such as PDF, Postscript, djvu, tiff, dvi, XPS, SyncTex support with gedit, comics books format. It have mission to replace the multiple document viewers that exist on the GNOME Desktop with a single simple application. And this software used with free license. Basically evince used for linux operating system. But there is alternative way to get evince can be used for window. Some developer has been created evince with portable format and can be used for windows operating system. I have been installed and used evince portable on my windows operating system.

Below is several Feature of Evince according to the official website:

1. Search Feature

   • Evince integrated search displaying the number of results found and highlights the results on the page

2. Page Thumbnails Feature

   • On Evince support two display view. One on the right view is main view. And the left one is Page Thumbnail view which can show quick reference for where you would like to go in a document.

3. Document Indexes Feature

   • The Document which have index information that include on it especially for PDF format, evince will display it with another format or display with tree format.

4. Encrypted Document Viewing Feature

   • If you have PDF  Documents that have been encrypted, Evince can open it.

Evince possible to have a side-by-side view in full screen. And this is also benefit of evince. Evince is also have view like presentation on Microsoft office power point.

Evince is also have another attractive function and that function is called dual function. it used for splitting main screen become two part. And dual function is also support with continues screen. To get this function is just click View  and then click Dual on menu bar.

Evince is also have Find Button. And this button have function to search keyword that we type on it. And this tool is very usefull when we search word or may be sentences that we can look or search it manually.
